I’ve been a lover of Free resources. I guess everyone here can relate the same. I’m a little bit confused about their safety. So, my question is- what are the drawbacks to using free or discounted themes and plugins offered by certain internet sites? Are there going to be any problems with my online platform?
For new website owners, free is always a good thing, and it’s ideal for those who are constantly experimenting or need a change now and then. Premium WordPress themes & plugins require payment, and many of them aren’t cheap! … Free themes and plugins are typically designed with beginners in mind, and as a result, they are simple and straightforward to use.
So, that the best thing to do is be safe and planned…Always choose safe and secure resources for free or ideally choose from trusted sources like wordpress.org. A/B testing can be efficient also, have a trial before and get an idea.
Your website’s code is only as secure and efficient as the code that makes it up. Ideally, all of your plugins should come from well-known developers.
Many free plugins are also available that are both responsibly developed and well-coded but do your research to ensure you are not using malicious plugins. However, while the majority of premium plugins can be trusted, this is not the case for all of them. So, better is that- Never make snap decisions.
If all else fails, keep in mind the golden rule: less is more.
