Do you have that one friend who just can’t help but check your social media posts every day? They always seem to be one step behind, liking Stalk Instagram and commenting on everything long after the conversation has died down? Congratulations, you have an instastalker!
But don’t worry, there’s no need to send them into exile – this is a perfectly normal (albeit sometimes irritating) tendency for many people. In today’s post, we’ll explore what instastalking is, why people do it, and how to deal with unwanted attention from avid social media users. Stay tuned!
Instastalking is the act of compulsively checking someone’s social media posts, almost as if you’re following them around. It’s a bit like stalking, but without the creepy undertones (usually). Some people do it as a simple way to keep up with the lives of friends, family members, or significant others. Others do it because they are interested in what you have to say. There are lots of reasons why people may choose to stalk your social media accounts.
Benefits:
– An abundance of social media users means that there are more potential fans to check your profile
– A good way to keep up with friends, family members, or significant others who you don’t see in person often enough
Drawbacks:
– Constantly being pestered by people trying to start a conversation about old posts can be very irritating
– The temptation to go and check your own profile too often can be overwhelming
